Career Coaching

Career coaching is one-to-one support designed to help increase your sense of clarity around your career next steps.

Freelance careers and careers in the arts in general can be especially complex. They can leave you feeling precariously specialised, and often seem so niche it’s hard to find help from someone who ‘gets’ the nuances of the industry.

In either a one-off 90 minute session, or a series of 3-6 hourlong sessions, individuals can work with an objective qualified career counsellor, with a specialism in both freelance careers and careers across the arts, to coach you through this next stage in your life and how you could best navigate your career so that it feels congruent with who you are, the type of work you want to do and more broadly,, the way your work interacts with your life.

Sounding-board

Sometime it’s not about changing career; you’re simply working through an idea and need a fresh perspective to improve the quality of your thinking on the topic and help you discern what you want to do next or how to move forward.

The ‘sounding-board for hire’ is a simple model where you can work with someone trained in critical thinking processes, rather than seeking out someone you already know who may have forgone conclusions based on their knowledge of either you, the industry or the situation.

Teamwork

Many arts organisations start out as a merry band of makers on a single project and then gradually evolve into a company.
